Police Chief Rosier plans business meetings
Whiteville Police Chief Jeff Rosier wants to improve communications with local business owners.
“I would like to coordinate meetings with our business owners to discuss practically anything that affects the safety and success of your business in the City of Whiteville,” he said in an email Thursday.
“The only time I have had the opportunity to meet with some owners was when we had an issue with patrons hanging around in front of a business causing problems with other businesses.”
The first meeting, a cooperative effort with the Chamber of Commerce, will be held Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. at the chamber office. The chief said he hopes to make the meetings a regular event.
The meetings will be held every third month on the first Tuesday of the month, beginning in September. “This type of communication should occur routinely between the police department and the businesses we serve,” Rosier said.
