Rosier to retire as Whiteville Police Chief Aug. 31
Whiteville Police Chief Jeffrey Rosier will retire from the local department effective Sept. 1, which means his last day on the job here will be Aug. 31.
City Manager Darren Currie made the announcement to Council during their regular meeting Tuesday night. Although Rosier was present, Currie said that in a meeting earlier in the day, he and the chief agreed that Currie would make the announcement.
Rosier has been police chief in Whiteville since March 1, 2014, according to city Human Resources Director Rachel Rivenbark. He came here from the Baltimore County, Maryland, police department, where he rose through the ranks to a commander’s post and along the way obtained associates, bachelors and masters degrees, the last from Johns Hopkins University.
