Public Notice: Trash Amnesty Week Begins April 15, 2019 Inside the City
The City of Whiteville is organizing Trash Amnesty Week to insure a clean and beautiful town. The City’s Trash Amnesty Week will take place during the week of April 15th. The City will pick up items on the west side of the City on April 16th and the east side on the 17th. The City encourages all residents to participate. The great natural beauty of our City and a clean environment are sources of great pride for all citizens, attracting tourists, aiding in recruiting new industries, and increasing awareness for cleaner and safer roadsides.
During this week, the City Public Works department will be dispatching a crew, including a truck and backhoe. The department will pick up discarded furniture, appliances, and other various items. The department will take discarded items to the county landfill.
Items that will NOT be picked up include, but are not limited to, construction debris, yard waste, hazardous waste (tires, paints etc.), and household trash.
The City of Whiteville would like to thank all who participate with this effort to help make Whiteville City a more appealing place to visit and reside.
